Overview: Conrad Construction were approached by the client after being kindly recommended by Bent Architecture to transform this corner block into three beautifully designed townhouses. The townhouses were purposefully designed by the architects to accentuate and promote urban living, which has become highly desirable in recent times. Taking full advantage of the block size available, the townhouses create generous lifestyle options for the future owners. Difficulties Faced: From the very beginning it quickly became clear when examining the plans that each townhouse was quite unique… by .5m to be exact! This is because although each townhouse, while joined, also had a .5m difference between each level. The differing measurements added a level of difficulty to the build because for each level, the measurements had to be exact otherwise it would not suit the finished floor level of each individual townhouse. It also meant that extra time and care would need to be taken when building to ensure that no costly mistakes were made. Afterall, if any of the measurements were out, even by a little bit, the result would have been a finished product that didn’t look quite right. Solution: Because of the level of skill and professionalism that Conrad Construction possess, the team knew exactly how to execute the differing level measurements and ensure that the finished floor levels were exactly as they should be. As an added feature to compliment the differing heights, the townhouses were also designed with gable roofs as a key feature. While this did require an even greater level of attention to detail, the team at Conrad Construction executed the task with ease, and were able to ensure that the high walls not only looked nice and straight, but also that there was absolutely no margin of error.
